The workshop will guide participants through the use of the Learning Designer tool, a free and open online design tool for teachers. The workshop will demonstrate how to develop a learning design with an intended learning outcome, e.g. to ‘develop a conceptual understanding’, which embeds digital technology to enhance the quality of the learning experience. This will be followed by plenary discussion, and then small group practice on editing and adapting that design for participants’ own education context, based around their available technologies. There will also be an opportunity for groups to exchange and peer review each other’s design ideas, modelling the way that teachers could discover, share and improve their digital pedagogy and blended learning design ideas in a collaborative process. The ultimate aim is to create the capability in all teachers to build and share their own effective learning designs for their students, without necessarily relying on expert help.
